Number Twenty-four: Parody in the NHL: Good or bad?

Anyone would be hard pressed to find an average fan in Dallas who loved the Dallas Stars right now. You'd also be hard pressed to find an average Coloradoian who loved the Colorado Avalanche very much this year. But last year, half of the average people in those places were huge fans of those teams. What I am trying to show you is that those teams have the bad type of fan, the 'what have you done for me lately' fan that only supports the team if they are doing well. The parody in the NHL, such as Columbus or St. Louis making the playoffs this year, can be good for the people and fans in those areas because it's nice for them to have a chance to win the cup. But if those teams don't make it to the second season the next year, they will most likely be just like Colorado and Columbus. For that reason, I say parody isn't good in the NHL, as markets are not established in those areas for extended periods of time. Thank goodness for the Canadian teams who will always have a devoted fan base.

Number Twenty-two: Sport-tacular!

I am posting the first episode of sport-tacular tomorrow. It is our new radio show with me and Max Cekota, and sometimes some guests like Prabh Sahota. We will be talking about hockey mostly, but I will do a 1 man report on NFL and MLB. We also will have a section called 'Quick Questions' where me or Max will ask the other a question, and only 15 seconds will be given to answer each question. Our first episode will be posted tomorrow, and it is very long, about an hour and a half. If anyone has any questions or topics they want us to talk about, or just any feedback for us, we would be pleased to hear it in a comment.
